MISSION STATEMENT

The San Diego Collection is dedicated to the collection, preservation, and interpretation of the Automotive Industry and preserving its history. All the while bringing the industry's art and people together for enjoyment, discovery and learning.

We have and will continue to strive to create a place where people from every background can be touched by the Automotive Industry.

The San Diego Collection is the culmination lifetime's passion in the collecting of rare and exotic vehicles by Mr. Charles R. (Chuck) Swimmer, a prominent and notable San Diego Businessman.

This collection of rare and exotic vehicles together with a vast array of automotive memorabilia uniquely presented in a dynamic facility is a feast for every auto enthusiast. The facility is like a passion resort for the vintage automobile enthusiast with a unique atmosphere unlike any other.

Chuck Swimmer resides in San Diego with Carol his wife of 38 years. He was born in Canton, Ohio and educated at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He founded Charco Construction in January 1966, and has been serving San Diego and surrounding areas ever since.

Chuck contributes to the community and is an active participant in many organizations including serving on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau.

As a result of Chuck's lifetime's passion and love for collecting rare and exotic vehicles the "The San Diego Collection" was formed by Chuck to display his personal world class quality collection. An extensive and unique collection, which is rapidly becoming recognized as one of the nations premier vintage and classic car organizations.

The San Diego Collection displays the best possible selection of quality vehicles in addition to the permanent display of Chuck's collection of world class cars. Most of which are extremely rare, in many cases only one or two were built, and in every case all vehicles displayed are operational and are pristine.

Chuck's formula of honesty and integrity has served him well. It has been the successful combination in his business and will be embraced as the standard for The San Diego Collection.

Armando Flores resides in southern California with his wife Rachael and his two adorable children. He brings to The San Diego Collection an extensive automotive knowledge and unparalleled devotion to detail.

His interest for cars began with his participation in the BAJA 1000 and his involvement in automotive racing skills training. Armando is committed to Italian sports cars but it's his devotion to detail that serves him remarkably well, especially when bringing any selected car up to the Concours d' Elegance potential.

He has established himself as the Collection's Director where in addition to his other and varied responsibilities have very successfully organized numerous special automotive events, gala parties, and charitable fundraisers at The San Diego Collection facility.

Armando serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego region of Ferrari's Owners Club as well as being a member of the checkered flag 200, and the Ferrari Club of America. Also, among Armando's greatest talents is his unique personal ability to interface with the public and assist someone when they are selecting an item or vehicle to fulfill their individual personal desires.

David, The San Diego Collection's General Manager has been with us since inception. When our doors first opened in December of 2002. David, as many young men began at entry level, starting as detailer and transporter. He soon traveled up the chain as his personal talents and abilities were recognized.

He rapidly acquired a broad spectrum of experience and expertise in the functioning of all aspects of The San Diego Collection. Naturally when the position of General Manager was vacated he became the logical choice.

Since his appointment as General Manager David continues strive for perfection and has consistently enhanced his education, knowledge and abilities. His skills are continually being challenged and sharpened by dealings and association with some of the most influential people in the car collector world.

What can we say about Rudy, she is our breath of sunshine, her personality, and "Can Do" attitude sets the stage for The San Diego Collection. She has become the go-to person for our organization, knowledgeable in all aspects and eager to assist visitors and staff alike.

Rudy is currently responsible for organizing and overseeing the parties, meetings and special events scheduled within our facilities. She has a great deal of experience and is very skilled and knowledgeable about the "IN's and Out's" of how to host a successful event.

Whether it be a fundraiser, business meeting, special event or just a fun party she will always go the extra mile to ensure you are always 100% satisfied with your event. Here at the collection we all love Rudy and what she brings to the team.
