Hondas onslaught on the American motorcycle market of the 1960s was through countless small-displacement models. Their first decade of operation saw the import of the Cub, Benly, Hawk, Scrambler and, of course, the square-edged Dream. In production from 1960 to 1967, and of 250 and 305cc specification, they were built thick and fast, with various options and configurations.

The pressed steel frame housed a happy-to-rev overhead camshaft engine, mated to a drivetrain, capable of resisting untold use and abuse. Even the full enclosure of a machines drive chain, seemed to allow it to last forever.

In 2002, the motorbike offered here, in glorious white, with red seat, was the subject of a frame off, nut and bolt restoration to very exacting standards, by a marque specialist, and is accompanied by photographic documentation of the process. Featuring hardshell panniers, windscreen, and crashbars, this spectacular and near perfect example was only a 6000 mile bike prior to restoration and has covered a mere 139 miles since. Fitted with Emergency vehicle lights and siren, the motorcycle has enjoyed several local parade outings. By any standards, this is a machine to adorn a collection as a prime example of pop-culture and one that will invariably invoke a reaction of affectionate approval.
